Shihan Reyes studied Wing Chun with Master Moy Yat in Chinatown NYC from 1975 to 1977 and then studied Tai Chi Combat under Master Ernest Ramos Sr. 1991 to 1993. After Ernest Ramos passed away, he studied the fundamentals of teaching Martial Arts with Grand Master George Vascones, Master Nick Harrison and Master Ralph Rodriguez from 1993 to 1995. Since 1995 until the present, he has studied Shotokan and Sho-Yun-O with Kyoshi Randy Giles.
Shihan Reyes has been an instructor for over 17 years and has promoted 12 Black Belts under his teachings. He presently continue to teach Shotokan, Tai Chi Combat and Basic Jujitsu. His concentration is on all aspects of the arts but he specializes more in Katas and weapons. At 60 yrs old he is still teaching and is the Head instructor and founder of the Sensei Ernest Reyes Memorial Karate Training Hall in the Bronx.
